![]() ![]() Given all the power Yoink has, it was the clear choice for me and has become a key part of my workflow. It seems simple at first but it has a lot of depth and staying power. Yoink has the quality of many of my favourite apps (and things in life). I don't have to open Finder, I don't have to remember to delete the file later, it's fantastic. ![]() Once downloaded I can drag the file into Slack and carry on with my day. The file will be downloaded to Yoink's temporary storage, and the icon in Yoink will be semi-transparent until the file is fully downloaded. For example, if I want to send a file from an SFTP server to a colleague on Slack (chat service), I can drag the file from Transmit to Yoink. One of things I value most is that Yoink allows me to fluidly do things that would otherwise be awkward or require many more steps. When you start dragging files in Finder or content from an application, Yoink fades in. It frees up your mouse, enabling you to navigate more comfortably to the destination of your files. You can even trigger Yoink's window with a keyboard shortcut. Yoink simplifies and improves drag and drop between windows, apps, spaces and fullscreen apps, by providing a temporary 'shelf' for your files and app-content. Not tied to a particular method of dragging, screen edge dragging isn't always great for multiple monitors. The other utilities either don't support multiple items or only support one stack of items, or don't allow combining and pulling things apart in the way Yoink does. You can also drag in three files and split them out into three independent items to drag out. So you can drag in three separate items and then drag them out one by one if that's what your workflow demands. There may be a viable control option out there - Smorc Demon Hunter is a problem as most control decks cant counter relentless damage from weapons to the face. Saying that the meta is still evolving all the time. The support for dragging in multiple items doesn't mean you *have to* combine multiple items which turns out to be pretty important. I actually hit legend with control yoink priest prior to the new expansion but that has died a death since. Support for dragging in multiple items, either all together or from multiple sources (somewhat hidden feature: you can even combine multiple independent items of the same type to drag out with option + double click). I tried Dropshelf, DragonDrop, and Yoink (they all have non-MAS trials by the way). Warning: A bit on the long side but I have a lot to share and useful tips for getting the most out of Yoink. ![]()
